Best for

Best for knowledge explainers, product demos and tutorial videos. The fastest, simplest route — one video in 15-40 minutes, driven by text plus stock or AI visuals.

Steps

Write the voiceover script

5-10 min

ChatGPT / Claude / DeepSeek

Generate a 200-300 word voiceover with an LLM, one idea per sentence. Use a four-part structure: hook (golden 3 seconds) → problem → solution → call to action. Rewrite it conversationally by hand afterward.

💡The first 3-5 seconds need a hook. Keep sentences short with plenty of commas so TTS breaks naturally.

Record the voice with TTS

5-10 min

ElevenLabs / CapCut AI voice

For premium quality use ElevenLabs (supports Chinese, can clone your voice; parameters stability≈0.75 / similarity≈0.75). For quick and free, use CapCut's built-in AI voice.

💡In talking-head videos, audio matters more than visuals — spend an extra couple of minutes choosing the voice and pace.

Prepare the visuals

5-15 min

CapCut text-to-video / Jimeng / stock

Pick one of three routes: stock montage (CapCut's text-to-video auto-matches footage, captions and BGM); AI images (Jimeng/Midjourney for cover or storyboard stills, then image-to-video for motion); or real footage / stock B-roll.

Edit and composite

10-20 min

CapCut

Cut visuals to the voice track's rhythm — never the other way around. Auto-captions then manually proofread proper nouns. Keep music at ~30% of voice volume, transitions at 200-300ms, and export 16:9 or 9:16 for the platform.

Publish and iterate

5 min

Douyin / Xiaohongshu / Bilibili

Adapt per platform: Douyin 15-60s vertical, Xiaohongshu 9-15s, Bilibili 2-5min horizontal. Tick the AI-content label, then track watch-through rate and comment keywords to iterate.

Tools involved

Pitfalls to avoid

Run-on sentences

TTS reads a long sentence in one breath and sounds terrible. Split into 10-15 character chunks with commas.

Visuals over script

The first 3-5 seconds decide your watch-through rate. The script matters far more than the footage — don't over-invest in visuals.

Music drowning the voice

Keep BGM at roughly 30% of voice volume, or viewers can't hear the narration.

Commercial licensing

Free tiers watermark output or cap at 720p. Before commercial use, confirm voice and music licenses — especially AI songs.
